One of the Newcastle Safeguarding Adults Board (NSAB) priorities this year has been around improving the quality of safeguarding adults referrals. Timely, accurate and well-constructed referrals help agencies work together to keep adults with care and support needs safe.
The NSAB is conscious that it might be a daunting prospect for some, particularly if you don’t make safeguarding adults referrals regularly. The NSAB have produced a one hour webinar to help guide professionals in this area. The webinar covers:
- A reminder of the criteria for making a safeguarding adults referral
- Involvement of the adult at risk, consent and information sharing considerations
- Other referral pathways and escalation of concerns
- Language
- What happens once a safeguarding adults referral has been submitted
- Signposting to guidance and resources that will assist referrers
Please note, to access the hyperlinks highlighted within the webinar you will need to download the slides.
The webinar complements our existing guide on making a good safeguarding adults referral and core Multi-agency Level 2 Safeguarding Adults Training.
